In the third quarter of 2024, the top communication apps in Saudi Arabia demonstrated varied performances across key metrics of downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

imo-International Calls & Chat from imo.im saw a gradual increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $65K in late July before settling at approximately $59K by the end of September. Its weekly downloads fluctuated, starting at about 123K in early July and closing the quarter at 116K. Meanwhile, weekly active users hovered around 6.5M, with a slight dip mid-quarter but recovering to 6.3M by the end of September.

Telegram experienced a notable rise in weekly revenue, starting at $24.7K and reaching over $50K by the end of the quarter. Downloads also increased significantly, peaking at 169K in early September before settling at 129K. Active users showed steady growth, with numbers rising from nearly 7.9M in early July to over 8.1M by the end of September.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a consistent trajectory in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 90K and reaching a peak of 117K in early September. Active users remained robust, increasing from 14.4M to nearly 14.8M throughout the quarter.

Snapchat from Snap Inc saw its revenue grow steadily, starting at $467K and reaching $658K by the end of September. Downloads showed a similar trend, starting at 98K and peaking at 117K mid-September. Active users also increased, from 14.9M to over 15.3M by the end of the quarter.

WhatsApp Business showed a positive revenue trend, beginning with negligible revenue in July and increasing to approximately $10K by the end of September. Download numbers rose from 69K to 100K mid-September, closing the quarter at 90K. Active users grew steadily, starting at 3.6M and reaching over 4.1M by the end of September.
